Contempt of Court case on Feb.26
The Supreme Court yesterday fixed for February 26 the case in which UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake is charged with contempt of court.
He pleaded not guilty when the charges were read out to him on an earlier occasion.
The Court June 18 directed the AG to furnish draft Rule against Mr. Ramanayake to show cause as to why he should not be charged in respect of two petitions complaining complaining that he had committed the offence of Contempt of Court.
President’s Counsel M.A. Sumanthiran with Jerusha Crossette Thambiah appeared for Mr. Ramanayake.
