MS Names 28 President’s Counsel

President Maithripala Sirisena has named close to 28 President’s Counsel on Thursday, with the list being sent to the Chief Justice, sources at the Presidential Secretariat said. The appointees had been called on Thursday to the Secretariat where the President had told the lawyers that the selected few were made following a long and tedious process. Sources said the list of names had been sent to the Chief Justice for final ratification after which the registrar of the Supreme Court will publish the names of the appointees.
