DAMBULLA PS BUDGET PASSED UNANIMOUSLY

The 2019 budget of the Dambulla Pradeshiya Sabha was passed unanimously with the SLFP and the UNP voting in favour. The budget, tabled by Chairman K.G. Somatillake (SLPP), was subjected to a discussion that lasted for about three hours and passed unanimously by the 25 member council.

Leader of the Opposition Saman Moremada informed the council that the council was not divided in their opinion and that all members would vote for it.

Addressing the budget meeting, Chairman Somatillaka said that the budget allocations amounting to Rs.190 million would be used to implement a comprehensive development programme in the district.

Members said that it was for the first time in the history of the Dambulla Pradeshiya Sabha that a budget had been passed unanimously.
