Suspect wanted in connection with several burglaries nabbed

A suspect wanted in connection with a series of burglaries was arrested by police during a search operation in the Payagala town.

He was arrested during investigations into four burglaries in the Gomarakanda area in Payagala. Investigations revealed that the suspect, who was employed as a driver at a cab service, had resorted to robbery and that he entered homes during day time when the occupants were away. Police said the suspect, who hailed from Kelaniya, had often accepted hires to Kalutara and therefore knew the area well. The suspect was produced in court and remanded.

OIC Payagala Police IP W. Gunatilleka, OIC Crime Investigation Branch SI Buddhika Nalin, Sergeants 32739 Hubert, 41118 Ratnasiri and PCS 51908 Anupriya were conducting further investigations.
