Sus­pect wanted in con­nec­tion with sev­eral bur­glar­ies nabbed

A sus­pect wanted in con­nec­tion with a se­ries of bur­glar­ies was ar­rested by po­lice dur­ing a search op­er­a­tion in the Paya­gala town.

He was ar­rested dur­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions into four bur­glar­ies in the Go­marakanda area in Paya­gala. In­ves­ti­ga­tions re­vealed that the sus­pect, who was em­ployed as a driver at a cab ser­vice, had re­sorted to rob­bery and that he en­tered homes dur­ing day time when the oc­cu­pants were away. Po­lice said the sus­pect, who hailed from Ke­laniya, had of­ten ac­cepted hires to Ka­lu­tara and there­fore knew the area well. The sus­pect was pro­duced in court and re­manded.

OIC Paya­gala Po­lice IP W. Gu­natilleka, OIC Crime In­ves­ti­ga­tion Branch SI Bud­dhika Nalin, Sergeants 32739 Hu­bert, 41118 Rat­nasiri and PCS 51908 Anupriya were con­duct­ing fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
