Chamod steers St. Joseph’s to vic­tory

A match­bag of nine wick­ets by Chamod Gayan helped St. Joseph’s Col­lege Wat­tala recorded an ex­cit­ing 17-run out­right win over Lyceum, Panadura in their Un­der-19 In­ter-schools Cricket Tour­na­ment en­counter which con­cluded at the Prison Grounds in Dalupotha yesterday.

Mean­while, Galahi­tiyawa Cen­tral recorded a firstin­nings win against Carey Col­lege in an­other match which ended at Mount Mary.

At Dalupotha (St. Joseph’s Wat­tala won by 17 runs)

St. Joseph’s: 117 and (9/0 overnight) 100 (Malinga Silva 31, Aloka Madushan 20, Niven Ro­drigo 7/42, Thithiea Ten­nekoon 3/9)
