Rain spoiled play in the lim­ited over fix­ture be­tween Wes­ley Col­lege and the tour­ing Nudgee Col­lege, Queens­land, Aus­tralia at Camp­bell Park.

Bat­ting first, the Wes­leyites rat­tled up 296 for the loss of eight wick­ets in their quota of overs.

The tourists were tot­ter­ing at 109 for seven wick­ets when play had to be called off at 3.45pm due to a heavy down­pour.

The vis­i­tors are the guests of But­ter­fly Va­ca­tions who are also the ground han­dlers and trans­port agents for the team.

St. Joseph’s Col­lege de­feated the vis­it­ing Nudgee Col­lege ‘A’ team from Aus­tralia by nine wick­ets in a lim­ited over match at the MCA Grounds, Colombo 7.

Tak­ing First lease of the MCA turf, Nudgee Col­lege were wrapped up for 118 and the Josephi­ans coasted home with nine wick­ets to spare.
