Asian Gram­mar School en­ters sec­ond round

The Un­der-13 cricket team of Asian Gram­mar School, Gothatuwa com­fort­ably se­cured their berth in the sec­ond round of the na­tional in­ter-school Un­der-13 Divi­sion III cricket tour­na­ment or­gan­ised by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket As­so­ci­a­tion. This has been the best ac­com­plish­ment in their brief his­tory of three years in na­tional in­ter-school cricket.

Out of the four league round matches, the Asian Gram­mar School team man­aged to record one in­nings win and two com­pre­hen­sive first in­nings vic­to­ries.

In the bat­ting depart­ment Jaan Mo­hamed con­trib­uted with three sparkling half cen­turies – 78 off 80 balls, 71 not out off 51 balls and a 57 not out off 20 balls.

Isala Pasan­mith also bagged a five­five wicket haul (5 / 9) against Asoka Col­lege in ad­di­tion to bowl­ing fig­ures of three wick­ets for five runs, two wick­ets each for eight runs and 15 runs

Col­lege was the pin­na­cle of all the bowl­ing per­for­mances.

He also con­trib­uted with bowl­ing spells of two wick­ets each for eight runs, 15 runs and 23 runs.

Isala Pasan­mith also bagged a five-five wicket haul (5 / 9) against Asoka Col­lege in ad­di­tion to bowl­ing fig­ures of three wick­ets for five runs, two wick­ets each for eight runs and 15 runs.
