SSP JAYASUNDERA APPOINTED TID DIRECTOR

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in charge of Jaffna Police division W. S. E. Jayasundera was appointed as the Director of Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) of police with immediate effect.

Police said the National Police Commission approved the appointment following the recommendation of the IGP.

They said SSP Jayasundera has also been appointed as the Director of the Ministerial Co-ordination Division in addition to the appointment at the TID.

Police said an ASP was functioning as the acting Director of the TID prior to appointment of SSP Jayasundera.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police U.P.A.D.K.P. Karunarathna has been appointed to be in charge of the Jaffna Division.

SSP Karunanayake was the Chief Administrative Officer of the National Police Training Institute.
