‘Govt. cannot move forward without a majority in Parliament’

The government cannot move forward without a majority in Parliament. Hence, a stable and firm government should be established,” Parliamentarian Hizbullah said.
He said that a stable government was imperative in order to solve the problems faced by the country due to the political crisis that had emerged.
Mr.hizbullah made the above comment when he participated as the chief guest at an event held on Saturday, in Eravur to declare open the roads constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.5 million under the Gamperaliya Rural Development Project.
Speaking further he said that the public with great hopes and confidence gave their votes to establish a regime of good governance.
However, the chief of that government Ranil Wickremesinghe did not fulfil the expectations of the President. The economy of the country was plundered through the Central Bank bond scam. The economy of the country had crumbled to the extent of the US Dollar shooting up to Rs. 182 which remained earlier at Rs 150, he said.
Parliamentarian Hizbullah said that thousands of badly affected people in the war, natural disasters and economically hit were living in the North-east and they were appealing to the authorities to build their houses.
“The World Bank granted funds in 2016, to construct 10,000 houses in 2017, 15,000 houses in 2018 and 25,000 houses in 2019. However, not a single house was built up to now as Ranil Wickremesinghe failed to take a clear and firm decision when certain contradictions emerged in the context of the housing project then,” he said.
Meanwhile, the President was compelled to sack the Prime Minister and take certain decisions and the best solution to solve the problems faced by the country today would be to hold the General Elections,mr.hizbullah said.
