Box containing skeletal remains recovered from canal

A metal box containing human bones was recovered from an irrigation canal in the Rajaela area in Minneriya on Sunday morning.

The Minneriya Police after being informed by a woman in the area, had recovered the box that was lying in the canal.

The police found the skeletal remains inside the box which was suspected to be that of a child which were sent to the Polonnaruwa Hospital for an autopsy.
