Four suspects arrested with stock of foreign liquor in Galle

Four suspects were arrested with a large stock of foreign liquor by the Port Police in Galle without a valid licence in Devata Sea Beach, Galle.

200 beer cans, Wine and bottles of foreign liquor were seized in a raid on a tip off received by the police. It was revealed in the police investigations that the suspects kept the foreign liquor to sell among foreigners who come to the Beach.

Some of the liquor seized were priced at about Rs. 5000/- each. Suspects were scheduled to be produced before court.

The raid was conducted by SI Jinasiri, Woman Police SI Priyadarshini, Sergeant Premaratna (8837), Sergeant Somapala (1691) Sergeant Silva (17996), PC Kithsiri (58851) with the assistance of OIC of Galle Port Police Station Duminda Kumara on the instructions of ASP D. Nagahawatta, SP Galle Anurudda Bandara Hakmana and DIG Chandana Alahakoon of Galle Division.
