‘HIRU ELIYAK’ ON WED.
Veteran musician and vocalist Visharada Sunil Amarasinghe will launch his maiden music album ‘Hiru Eliyak’ on Wednesday, December 12 at the SLBC’S Ananda Samarakoon Studio.the album will comprise selected light songs sung by Sunil in his tuneful career spanning more than three decades. Sunil studied music under Sangeeth Nipun Sanath Nandasiri and later served as a music teacher in Prof. Nandasiri’s music academy. “There are some who ask me why I decided to bring out this CD so late. But I feel it’s better late than never. My intention is to make these songs available for the next generation. My wife Shyamalie and Nirosha Virajini have joined me in the duets. This album comprises 15 selected songs of mine,” said Sunil Amarasinghe. Dr. Rohana Weerasinghe and Sangeeth Nipun Sanath Nandasiri have contributed with the music to the songs while Lal Ananda Abeydeera, Nimal Jayakody, Jagath Wickremasinghe, H. M. Jayawardene and others also contributed to the CD. “All my songs in the CD convey a positive message to society. With today’s peculiar music trends, my songs and the messages I convey may not be taken seriously but I am sure they will accept it tomorrow. I am so grateful to Prof. Sanath Nandasiri, Visharada Edward Jayakody, Visharada Charitha Prtiyadarshani, Anura Wanniarachchi, my wife Shyamalie and my colleagues at SLBC for motivating me to bring out this CD,” said Sunil Amarasinghe.
