Gangster ‘Pappa’ arrested over five shooting incidents
The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) recently revealed that a 28-year-old suspect identified as Bamunu Arachchige Duminda alias Mohammed Salman Rilvan (Pappa) had been wanted for several shooting incidents that took place in Maligawatta and Grandpass.
It said the suspect was nabbed with 5.3 grams of heroin in Maligawatta last week and detained for seven days for further interrogation after being produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate.
CCD officers who grilled the suspect were able to discover that he had been involved in five shooting incidents in Colombo and its suburbs.
They said the suspect had been involved in a shooting incident at Jampettah Street on July 7 last year where two individuals were killed and two others sustained injuries. He had been the rider of one motorcycle used for the crime.

Under interrogation, the suspect revealed that he had buried a hand grenade at Applewatte in Maligawatta, which the CCD officers recovered on Tuesday

“Pappa was also involved, as the motorcyclist, in two other shooting incidents in Maligawatta on August 30 and September 12 last year, and another shooting incident in Grandpass on November 11. He has two warrants issued on him by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court,” they said.
