Hindu College cruise to easy win

N. Iyangaran, M. Kajan and M. Kobiran bagged four scalps each to help Hindu College, Jaffna to record a convincing innings and 111-run win over Stanley College, Jaffna in their Under-19 Inter-schools Cricket Tournament encounter which concluded in Jaffna yesterday.

Stanley College were bundled out for 49 in their first innings and following on they were bowled out for 108 runs in the second innings.

At Jaffna (Hindu College won by innings and 111 runs)

Hindu College: 268/7 declared

Stanley College (24/4 overnight): 49 (N. Iyangaran 4/6, T. Komainthan 2/12) and 108 (M. Kathirawan 28, S. Lajindhan 22, M. Kajan 4/18, M. Kobiran 4/41).

At Godigamuwa (Galahitiya­wa Central won by innings and 76 runs)

Galahitiya­wa Central: 306

Gamini NS, Bentota (56/3 overnight): 136 (Chamila Kithmal 69, Senesh Nadeeshan 3/17, Sandaruwan Chinthaka 3/19, Tharindu Gimhana 2/25) and 94 (Omila Nilipul 36 n.o, Senesh Nadeeshan 4/21, Tharindu Gimhana 3/29).

At Muthuwella (1st innings win for Mahanama)
