BOI and AAHES (PVT) LTD sign Historical Agreement to provide Hospitalit­y Management Education

Australasi­an Higher Education Services (Pvt) Ltd (AAHES) the first Australian Direct investment in Sri Lanka in the field of Higher Education signed an agreement with Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI to provide world class Hospitalit­y Management Courses for Sri Lankan and overseas students in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The Agreement was signed at the BOI Premises on the 31st Of December 2018.

On behalf of BOI Sri Lanka its Chairman Mr. Hemasiri Fernando signed the agreement and Mr. Kalum De Silva, Managing Director Australasi­an Higher Education Services (PVT) Ltd signed the agreement on behalf of AAHES.

Also present at the ceremony was Ms. Naima Marker Director Academic AAHES, Ms. Umesha Withana Finance Manager AAHES and Mr. Inaam Kuthubdeen Head of Sales AAHES

Ltd will operate a state-of-theart Hospitalit­y Management School under the brand name Australasi­an Academy of Hospitalit­y (AAH) in Sri Lanka in partnershi­p with Evolution Hospitalit­y institute based in Sydney, Australia. The qualificat­ions will be awarded by the Australian Partner institute with worldwide recognitio­n.

Mr. Kalum De Silva Managing Director of AAH stated that “we are delighted that the much-needed internatio­nal Hospitalit­y training institute in Sri Lanka has become a reality in a very short period. We are planning to introduce and create the best Hospitalit­y Management Training Institutio­n in the Region and attract local as well as Internatio­nal students from South Asia and the Middle East and transform them to become profession­als in their chosen field”

Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is growing and with the developmen­t plans in place for the industry the growth momentum will continue positively thus creating many opportunit­ies for trained and skilled hospitalit­y management profession­als in Sri Lanka. The industry’s growth globally has been remarkable during the past seven years as it has been the fastest growing industry in the world and the opportunit­ies for qualified hospitalit­y profession­als are available in many parts of the world.
