Protest against Lakshman Seneviratne in Mahiyangana town

A group of persons had hoisted black flags in the Mahiyangana town to protest against the visit of MP Lakshman Seneviratne, who recently crossed over to the UNP from the UPFA.

A ceremony had been organized to welcome Mr. Seneviratne at his office on Saturday in Mahiyangana.

A group of persons were seen hoisting black flags and putting up posters in Mahiyangana, Ridimaliyedda and Girandurukotte. The protesters called themselves ‘The organisation for the protection of the UNP’. They said, “We do not accept MP Seneviratne who has now crossed over twice”.

Media personnel who went to cover the event were obstructed from entering the area where the ceremony was to be held. They had gone to his office with the idea of getting a statement from him with regard to his crossover and his future plans.
