SRI LANKAN TEAM LANDS IN WASHINGTON TO DISCUSS EFF
ASri Lankan delegation led by Minister of Finance Mangala Samaraweera arrived in Washington yesterday to discuss the country’s External Fund Facility (EFF) with IMF and others during their tour. The team, led by Minister Samaraweera, comprises Central Bank Governor Indrajith Coomaraswamy, Non-cabinet Minister Dr Harsha De Silva, and Treasury Secretary Dr R. H. S. Samaratunga.dr De Silva said in his twitter message that they were planning to discuss Sri Lanka’s EFF.
He said Sri Lanka had lost $1 billion reserves due to the recent political crisis.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said last week that the team led by Minister Samaraweera would try to raise $1.9 billion from international money markets.
