Ireland ‘A’ makes SL ‘A’ bowlers toil
Ireland ‘A’ invited to take first lease of the wicket made the Sri Lanka ‘A’ bowlers toil hard throughout the opening day of the second unofficial Test match which began at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota yesterday.
Ireland ‘A’ spearheaded by half centuries from James Mccollum, Stepehn Doheny, Lorcan Tucker and Neil Rock ended the day with a formidable first innings score of 286 for four wickets.
Mccollum made 72 with seven boundaries while Doheny made 58 inclusive of six boundaries and a six and the pair put on a 100-run stand for the second wicket.
Later, Tucker and Rock remained unbeaten on 61 and 57 respectively with the pair sharing an unbeaten 128-run stand for the fifth-wicket which propelled the Ireland ‘A’ side.
