Ragama CA eliminate SSC

Ragama CA eliminated the defending Champions SSC by a massive margin of 108 runs, while NCC ended Kirindiwela CA’S unbeaten run by a narrow margin of 10 runs, to book their berths in the Semi Finals, in the quarter finals of the ongoing 13th MCA Inter Academy U-13 / 30 over League Tournament 2018.

The other two teams to enter the Semi’s were MCA “Blue” & CCC (2017 runners –up)

Ragama piled up 191 for 5 in 30 overs riding on a well compiled 76 runs by Thirika Gonsalves and restricted SSC to a paltry 83 for 7 in 30 Overs.

The clincher for NCC was the notable double by Mihin Munasinghe (42 runs & 3 for 29); Umeth Sendiya’s fighting innings of 86 runs for Kirindiwela, thus went astray.

A hurricane century by Lahiru Amarasekera ( 109 in 58 balls, inclusive of 04 sixes & 17 fours) propelled MCA “Blue” to a over whelming 158 runs win over new comer, Serendib International.

CCC proved too strong for the new comer Kingfisher, as they got shot out for 44 runs in 24.1 overs and losing by 10 wickets; The Kingfisher batsman had no answer to Thenishka Nanayakkara ( 3 for 4) & Prakash Gammaththige ( 3 for 8)
