Man, who robbed goods worth Rs. 129,000, arrested

A man who had broken into a house in the Meeriyagasbedda area and taken away goods worth over Rs.129, 000, was taken into custody by the Kandaketiya Police on Thursday evening.

The 28-year-old suspect was a resident of the Kivulegedara area.

Amongst the stolen items were gold jewellery and other household goods which he had pawned to get money to buy liquor.

He was to be produced before the Badulla Magistrate.
