Meet Rami’s identical twin Sami!
He's an award-winning actor with a growing resume. And while Rami Malek appears to take on any role with ease, he remains somewhat secretive about his personal life but it has been revealed he has an identical twin brother. The 37-yearold Bohemian Rhapsody star and his brother Sami are a mere four minutes apart, and while Rami has taken a liking to the bright lights of Hollywood, Sami opted to pursue the educational field as a teacher. In 2015, Rami admitted to Jimmy Kimmel that the pair 'don't look as much alike as we used to' but that didn't stop them from getting into some trouble. ‘So he calls me one day... he goes, ‘Hey, do you know a Greek monologue from a Greek tragedy?'' Rami told the talk show host. ‘'Yeah, of course, I've just been doing this for four years.' He goes, ‘Listen, I need you to come down to my university' — a major American university here in Los Angeles — he goes, ‘I need you to do this for my class. It's gonna give me the points I need.''
Rami then made his way to the lecture hall where the professor questioned if he is ready to perform. ‘I go, ‘Yeah I'm gonna get my points and we're gonna make this happen,'' Rami added. ‘And I deliver this monologue in front of the entire lecture hall and I get a little applause, people dig it.
And I think she starts looking at me kind of accusatorially like, ‘Where the hell did you come up with that?'' Rami's amateur performance certainly helped pave the way for his professional career as he recently nabbed a Best Actor - Drama win at the Golden Globes for his portrayal of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.
His girlfriend Lucy Boynton played Mercury's girlfriend Mary Austin in the biopic that has earned more than $743 million at the worldwide box office. Rami confirmed their relationship at the beginning of the year when he won the Breakthrough Artist Award at the 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival's Film Awards Gala. He thanked the festival before directly addressing the London-raised actress. ‘Thank you, Lucy Boynton. You have been my ally, my confidant, my love. Thank you so much,' he said.
Rami previously dated his Mr. Robot co-star Portia Doubleday, 30, before they split in 2017.
The Los Angeles native also has received a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his work in Bohemian Rhapsody
