ANGELO PERERA SLAMS QUICK-FIRE DOUBLE CENTURY

NCC Skipper Angelo Perera continued his batting form when he slammed a quickfire double century against arch rivals SSC on day two of their SLC Premier Super Eight Cricket Tournament encounter which continued at the P. Sara Oval yesterday.

Angelo who was unbeaten on 152 on day one went on add a further 49 runs before he was dismissed for 201 from 203 balls with 20 boundaries and one six.

Angelo also added 92 for the ninthwicke­t with Sachintha Peiris as NCC piled up 444 runs in their first innings.

However, SSC opener Sandun Weerakkody made an unbeaten 167 in 198 balls that included 18 boundaries and four sixes as SSC ended the day with 290 for two.

Meanwhile, Colts CC went on to amass 615 runs in their first innings in their match against Tamil Union at the SSC Grounds.

An unbeaten century by Kanishka Amarasingh­e helped Saracens SC end day two with a first innings score of 255 for five in reply to Army SC’S 350 runs.

In addition, CCC have already taken a first inning lead over Chilaw Marians CC and the match is set for an early finish. At P Sara Oval
