Masters T20 league this weekend

The Senior Citizens (Over 50) of four Cricket Associatio­ns, namely Mercantile Cricket Associatio­n, (MCA), State Services Cricket Associatio­n (SSCA), Nationaliz­ed Services Cricket Associatio­n (NSCA) and Colombo Masters Cricket Associatio­n (CMCA) will go head to head in the Inaugural Sri Lanka Masters T+20 League Quadrangul­ar 2019.

The tournament the brain child of Mahes de Zoysa, former Anandian wicket-keeper/batsman and founder of CMCA in 2017, and will get underway on preindepen­dence day, February 3 at the NSCA Grounds, Ratmalana.

The quadrangul­ar will be continued on February 8 and 17 at the Bloomfield C&AC grounds and the two finals, including the play off for third place, will be held on February 24 at the MCA grounds.

The schedule:

03rd February at NSCA grounds, Ratmalana

Morning : MCA Vs. Nationlize­d Services; Afternoon : State Services Vs. Col. Masters.

08th February at Bloomfield grounds, Reid Avenue

Morning : State Services Vs. Nationlize­d Services; Afternoon : Colombo Masters Vs. MCA

17th February at Bloomfield grounds, Reid Avenue

Morning : MCA Vs. State Services; Afternoon : Nationlize­d Services Vs. Colombo Masters 24th February at MCA grounds Morning : Play off 3rd place; Afternoon – Final.

The launch of the tournament was held on January 30 at the MCA Fine Dining restaurant where Mahes de Zoysa - President CMCA presented the Dr. R.A.H. de Zoysa Challenge Shield and the official players’ cap to the four captains – Roshan Iddamalgod­a (MCA), Deepal Madurapper­uma (Nationlize­d Services), Thilak de Silva (State Services) and Lasantha Perera (Colombo Masters)
