Savoy Cinemas secures distribution rights of upcoming movie ‘Tsunami’
Heralding a new era for Sri Lanka’s cinema goers, the recently rebranded Savoy Cinemas secured the official distribution rights of Dr. Somaratna Disanayaka’s upcoming Sinhala film ‘Tsunami’.
Ben Holdings, which recently acquired EAP Films and Theatres, rebranded the company as Savoy Cinemas with the official launch of Savoy Premiere Rajagiriya in December 2018.
Savoy Cinemas is set to introduce the ‘Savoy experience’ to the Sri Lankan cinema audience with the backing of Lyca Productions, which paves the way for innovative, decade-defining global movies to screen in Sri Lanka. Ben Holdings acquired EAP Broadcasting, EAP Films and Theatres and Swarnamahal Jewellers in partnership with Blue Summit Capital Management Ltd.
Ben Holdings’ Savoy Cinemas (formerly EAP Films and Theatres) is ready to introduce Sri Lankan film audience to an exceptional viewing experience with the release of Dr. Disanayaka’s ‘Tsunami’, which will be screened in August 2019, at in excess of 75 theatres islandwide.
‘Tsunami’ is anticipated to be the most-awaited local movie and one of the highest spend movie for 2019. This local production is directed by veteran director Dr. Disanayaka whilst the executive producer is Renuka Balasuriya.
Ben Holdings has initiated investing in enhancing the viewing experience of Sri Lankan movie goers with the backing of the company’s partners. The partnership with Lyca Productions will facilitate Ben Holdings to provide the Sri Lankan film audience with an enhanced experience.
