Kalana steers S. Thomas’ to an innings win

Left-arm pacie Kalana Perera ended with an impressive matchbag of 10 for 54 to help S. Thomas’ College record an innings and 119-run win over Mahanama College, Colombo in their Under-19 Inter-schools Cricket Tournament encounter which concluded at Mount Lavinia yesterday.

Meanwhile, St. Peter’s College dominated proceeding­s against Royal College in their drawn match at Bambalapit­iya.

At Mount Lavinia (S. Thomas’ won by innings and 119 runs)

S. Thomas’: 395/5 declared Mahanama (37/4 overnight): 68 (Kalana Perera 6/33, Dilmin Ratnayake 3/11) and 208 (Pathum Boteju 62, Pawantha Weerasingh­e 60, Sonal Dinusha 32, Kalana Perera 4/21). At Bambalapit­iya (Match drawn) St. Peter’s: 329/6 declared
