Let’s read books and papers again

Arrangements have been made by Provincial Library Services Board to implement the programme “Let’s read books and papers again” with the aim of directing the students in the Sabaragamuwa Province towards reading printed books and newspapers.

The inaugural meeting of this programme was held on January 31, at the Provincial Library Services Board auditorium in Ratnapura.

In addition to this programme, a workshop was held to create awareness among the Sabaragamuwa Province students regarding reading books and newspapers monthly.

The prominent media men such as Mahinda Prasad Masimbula, lecturer Suminda K.gunaratna,dr.ajith Kalyana Amarasinghe and prominent literati Dhanushka Ediriweera Bandara delivered lectures and music was directed by Saliya Udumulla.

The official website of Sabaragamuwa Province Library Services Board( www.lsb.sg.gov.lk) was released and ’Duruthu Mathakaya’ Mahagamasekara Commemoration and anthology of poems was organized to coincide with the programme.

On this occasion, several officials including Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council Governor Dhamma Dissanayake and the Chairman of the Library Services Board Salitha Karunarathna participated.
