Chula Hettiarachchi appointed to Softlogic Life Board

Softlogic Life Insurance PLC announced that Chula Hettiarachchi has been appointed to the board of directors of the company.

The appointment is subject to the approval of the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka.

Hettiarachchi was previously the company’s Chief Operating Officer and will now be designated as Executive Director of Softlogic Life Insurance PLC.

He is a qualified sales and insurance professional with a career that spans a period of 35 years, 22 of which is in the life insurance industry.

He joined Softlogic Life in 2001 as Head of Sales and since then has been instrumental in building an exceptional Agency Team that has contributed extensively to the growth and development of the company.

Hettiarachchi holds B.com. and M.com degrees from the University of Kelaniya and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance and Business Management from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

He has received extensive overseas training with Allied Dunbar UK, FALIA Japan and OLIS Japan, as well as the Indian Insurance Institute, Pune and Munich Re in Germany.

The board of directors of the company will now comprise Chairman Ashok Pathirage, Deputy Chairman Paul Ratnayeke, Managing Director Iftikar Ahamed, Sujeewa Rajapakse, Ray Abeywardena, Rudiger Will, Haresh Kaimal, Fernanda Lima and Chula Hettiarachchi.
