CEB collects Rs.130 mn through fines
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has earned a sum of Rs.130 million last year as fines from the instances of illegally tapping of electricity countrywide.
A sum of Rs.10 million has been collected through a court order and Rs.120 million recovered by way of fines by the CEB.
These monies have been received by Electricity Board from the raids done last year by 18 teams led by Investigation Manager Indika Fernando of the Electricity Board.

In addition to this, the Board has received Rs. 4.5 million due to unauthorized consumption of electricity in the Colombo area.
