CEB collects Rs.130 mn through fines

The Ceylon Electricit­y Board (CEB) has earned a sum of Rs.130 million last year as fines from the instances of illegally tapping of electricit­y countrywid­e.

A sum of Rs.10 million has been collected through a court order and Rs.120 million recovered by way of fines by the CEB.

These monies have been received by Electricit­y Board from the raids done last year by 18 teams led by Investigat­ion Manager Indika Fernando of the Electricit­y Board.
