BRITAIN’S PRINCE PHILIP GIVES UP DRIVER’S LICENCE
LONDON (DPA), FEB 10, 2019 Britain’s Prince Philip gave up his driver’s licence on Saturday after a collision he was involved in while driving near the royal Sandringham estate last month prompted an outcry.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement that Philip, 97, also known as the Duke of Edinburgh, made the decision to give up his licence of his own free will after lengthy deliberation.
In January, Philip’s Land Rover Freelander landed on its side after a collision with a Kia. Two days after the accident, police had a conversation with him after he was photographed driving without a seatbelt.
The driver of the other car, a 28-yearold woman, suffered cuts to her knee while her passenger, a 45-year-old woman, sustained a broken wrist. a 9-month-old boy who was in the second car with the two women was unhurt.
