More Pakistan scholarships to SL students
Numerous scholarships will be provided to Sri Lankan students in various fields under the Pakistan-sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Programme, Pakistan High Commissioner Major General Retd. Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat has said.
According to Urdu Point, the High Commissioner said this was discussed with Higher Education Minister Rauff Hakeem when he met him in Colombo.
During the meeting, bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest and cooperation had come under discussion.
The High Commissioner also discussed the prospect of establishing the Taxila Gandhara Civilization Study Centre at the Colombo University with the minister.

Another proposal Dr. Hashmat broached with the minister was for the High Commission of Pakistan to organize an international seminar in collaboration with the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka in March this year, with the view to highlight the Gandhara heritage and cultural links between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Minister Hakeem lauded the efforts of the High Commission and the Government of Pakistan for providing enormous opportunities to Sri Lankan youth for capacity building.
