‘Jee-bumma’ in STF net

A 33-year-old Mohammad Zamoor Mohammad Shiyam alias ‘Jee Bumma’ was arrested by the STF in Gampola this morning in connection with several shooting incidents, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said.

He said the suspect, a resident of Maligawatta, was identified as an accomplice of underworld figure Kanjipanai Imran, who was in Dubai police custody. The spokesman said the suspect was arrested while hiding at Gampolawela area yesterday morning and was wanted over multiple shooting incidents in Colombo recently. Investigations revealed that ‘Jee Bumma’ was also wanted over the shooting of 39-year-old woman, Asha Faari alias Kudu Chooti, who was injured in a shooting at Melwatta in Kotahena last month.

“The suspect is an Island’s Re-convicted Criminal (IRC) and has been the main shooter of Kanjipani Imran.
