Chief Incumbent of Lahugala Magul Maha Vihare passes away

The Chief Incumbent of historical Lahugala Magul Maha Vihare, the Most Venerable Hulannuge Rathanasarabhidana Thera passed away yesterday while receiving treatment at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital in Galle.

He is also the Chief Incumbent of three other temples of Kirivehera Vihare, historical Neelagiri Vihare and Kotawehera Vihare.

The Thera held the titles of Panampaththuwa Pradeshiya Shashanarakshaka Bala Mandala Chief Chairman Vinayakeerthi

Sri Sarabhaknga Visharada, Justice of Peace for the whole island and Upa Pradhana Sanghanayake for Amparabatticaloa districts.

The last rites of the Thera would be held at 2.00 p.m. on Saturday 16th. The remains lie at the Lahugala historical Magulmaha Viharaya.
