Several measures to boost offseason arrivals
Meanwhile, the Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs Ministry will unveil a slew of new measures to boost off-season arrivals.
The off-season period is generally considered to be from May to October.
The measures being considered for immediate implementation include visa on arrival for a number of select countries that include Sri Lanka’s main tourism source markets, unveiling a special lowseason country promotion package in association with industry stakeholders, a mega travel fair called Sri Lanka Travel Mart, where 200 new tour operators are expected to attend and further consolidation of the ‘So Sri Lanka campaign’, which has already gained traction in Europe, following its soft launch at the ITB in Germany, last week.
