Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the two companies, CBL’S workforce of over 2000 employees will have access to special healthcare facilities, treatments and testing.

This CBL initiative aims to ensure the health, well-being and safety of its employees by providing access to high-quality healthcare in line with CBL’S commitment to its core values of caring, quality, innovation and integrity.

The MOU paves the way for Ninewells to serve as the preferred healthcare provider for CBL, by providing access to its high-quality private healthcare services and advanced medical facilities, including the provision of medical centre facilities, doctor consultations with nursing, pharmacy facilities and laboratory services.

The MOU was signed in the presence of Ceylon Biscuits Limited CEO Nalin Karunaratne, Ninewells Hospital Director Admin and Logistics Maj. Gen. Sri Ranaweera, Foresight Group Director Marketing Nilantha Rathnayake, CBL Human Resource Head Gehan Mendis and other key representatives of both CBL and Ninewells Hospital.

Karunaratne speaking at the ceremony said, “CBL implements a wide range of activities geared at ensuring the safety, health, happiness and satisfaction of its employees such as providing daycare services, sports facilities, learning opportunities and much more. This core value of caring is embedded in all our activities. This partnership aligns with CBL’S focus on providing our employees with the best benefits and opportunities and we are proud to have signed this agreement to give our employees access to high-quality medical care from Ninewells, which is one of Sri Lanka’s leading hospitals and recognized for its focus and commitment to pioneering strategies to deliver high-quality healthcare, as efficiently as possible.”

Ranaweera explained that the agreement represents the hospital’s vision to be a total healthcare provider to local organisations and working professionals across the island, thereby playing an active role in improving and nurturing the health and the quality of life of Sri Lankans. He said that this partnership with CBL, which is one of the country’s largest and most respected corporates, reinvents the way that businesses care for their workforce and as the pioneer of the concept of a privately owned specialized women and childcare hospital in Sri Lanka, Ninewells is proud to have embarked on this employeefocused initiative.

The signing of this agreement signifies an innovative partnership between two of the most trusted corporate entities in Sri Lanka and a leading healthcare provider to build healthier communities, happier workplaces and increase access to healthcare and medical treatment across Sri Lanka.
