Brandix Essentials, Maliban Biscuits , SLT and Nawaloka Hospitals enter MCA ‘E’ Division semis

Brandix Essentials, Maliban Biscuits, Sri Lanka Telecom & Nawaloka Hospitals advanced to the Semi Finals on the 17th David Pieris Group of Companies powered, “DPGC” Challenge Trophy – MCA “E” division 25Over League Tournament 2019. In the Quarter Finals, that were worked off last Saturday, Stafford Motors went down fighting to Brandix Essentials by the skin of their teeth (by one wicket on the last ball); Maliban scored a comfortable 62-run win over Emerchemie NB; SLT scored a convincing 23-run win over Eagle Logistics; and Nawaloka Hospitals had to struggle to beat Akbar Bros. by 25 runs in a low scoring affair.

A superb bowling performance by Navidu Perera (5-18-5) and a rock solid half century by Oshan Priyadarshana (50 in 41 balls 2x6 and 4 x 4) fashioned Brandix Essentials’ close win over Stafford Motors.

The match winners for Maliban over Emerchemie were Gihan Anuruddha (53 in 45 balls, 1x6 and 6x4) and Lahiru Dushantha (5 -25-5) Nirushan Ramachandra stroked an elegant half century (60 in 74 balls, 1 x 6, 4 x 4) and Inshaka Siriwardena bowled a miserly spell (2 -11-3) in SLT’S win over Eagle Logistics.

Nawaloka defended their moderate total of 113 runs against Akbar Bros through their varied bowling attack of Thivanka Kekulawala (5-13-4), Buddhika Prasad (4.4-13-2) and Kalana Dilshan (3 -23 -2). Match Results
