-

The Fintech Association of Sri Lanka (FASL) will be a Regional Co-organiser of Asia Smart App Awards 2018/19 in Hong Kong, which is organised by the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association (WTIA).

Nominations are to be submitted before the deadline, 12:00 (GMT+0800), 15 April 2019.

A Hong Kong Expert Panel with members composed of reputable experts in the fields of marketing, advertising, creative design and smart apps development will score all the eligible entries based on the submitted information and the one-minute introductory video in accordance with the judging criteria.

The top 13 entries with highest scores in each of the three award categories, namely ‘Public Sector Distinction’, ‘Business and Commercial’ and ‘Lifestyle, Social and Entertainment’, amounting to a total of 39 top-score entries, will be shortlisted. To encourage participation from co-operating regions, the top two entries with highest scores (regardless of which award categories) in each of the 13 co-operating regions and Hong Kong will be selected, amounting to a total of 28 top-regional entries, to enter to second round assessment. It is noted that if any top-regional entries are already included in the top-score entries, no replacement from that region would be entertained.

The nine finalists will receive notification to attend the ‘Asia Smart App Awards and Summit Programme’ during June 18 – 21, 2019, in Hong Kong.

The programme includes the Final Judging Meeting, Asia Smart App Summit and Awards Presentation Ceremony cum Gala Dinner. Air-tickets (economy class) and three-night twinshare hotel accommodation would be offered to the finalists. In the Final Judging Meeting, the nine finalists (three in each award category) would deliver a 10-minute presentation (followed by a 10-minute Q&A session) to the Final Judging Panel composed of Regional Representatives from Hong Kong and thirteen co- operating regions.

The panel would determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners of each of the three award categories and an overall Grand Award, in accordance with the judging criteria.

The nine finalists will receive their awards and recognition at the Asia Smart App Awards Presentation Ceremony cum Gala Dinner. Certificate of Merit will also be presented to other shortlisted entries if they attend the ceremony at their own expenses. If they do not attend the ceremony, the Certificate of Merit will be mailed to their correspondence address.
