MORE SECURITY TO POPULAR SCHOOLS; LESS FOR OTHERS: PRINCIPALS’ UNION

Security given for popular schools was higher compared to other schools, the Principals’ Services Union yesterday said. Union’s President Sunil Premathile­ke said that following the recent recovery of a large number of weapons, swords and knives, the parents and children said they were not confident enough on their safety and the country’s security.

Parents had given letters to Principals claiming that their children would not be sent to schools until the security was re-establishe­d in the country and assurance by the Government Mr. Weerasingh­e added.
