was not invited to the Met Gala because she is ‘too C-list’
Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Kylie and Kendall Jenner attended the Met Gala in New York City on Monday. And Kim's husband Kanye West as well as Kylie's beau Travis Scott also made appearances.
Notably absent were Kim's sister Khloe and Kourtney. According to a new report, the Strong Looks Better Naked author was considered too low brow for the fancy shindig. The 34-year-old Good American designer was in Los Angeles with her daughter True, and so did the 39-year-old Poosh creator.
The two may also have been shooting scenes for Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Neither Khloe nor Kourtney have ever attended the Met Gala. According to Radar Online, Khloe has been ‘blacklisted' by host Anna Wintour of Vogue because she is too ‘C list.' And Kourtney would not attend in support of Khloe. It may just be that Khloe is not there yet when it comes to high-end fashion. She also has not posed for Vogue yet, something Kim, Kylie and Kendall have done already. Kylie and Kendall have also taken the cover for Teen Vogue, which curries favour with Anna it seems.
It appears as though many of the Met Gala guests have posed for the fashion Bible - Gigi Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, Lady Gaga, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Graham and Katy Perry, among others - and that may be one of the requisites.
Wintour is reportedly a bit snobby when it comes to the guest list. Dailymail.com has reached out to Khloe's rep for comment. Kim was the first family member to hit the high-profile event.
In 2013 she was West's plus one as she modeled a floral Givenchy gown while heavily pregnant with daughter North. The Selfish author wrote on social media on Monday that she was stressed out about going. Sadly, after the gala she ‘cried' because she was so insecure about everything.
‘Year 1 - 2103 Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. I was Kanye's plus one & so nervous! I didn't know anyone & I'm sure no one wanted me there lol. I did my own lipstick & the colour is so off. I went home & cried after of insecurity but this is one of my fave looks now.' In 2014, Kim had on a blue strapless Lanvin outfit as Kanye had on black. She said on Monday it was the first time she had been invited on her own.
In 2015 she went with a feathered Roberto Cavalli look that seemed seethrough. ‘The beading is just SO beautiful,' Kim remarked. She noted that Peete Dundas created the gown. ‘My dress was originally made of this amazing leather with metallic detailing,' Kim said earlier. ‘But we decided at the last minute to redo it in blue satin.' Kim also attended in 2016, 2017 and 2018, making her a Met Gala staple.
