One dies in clash between two parties over land dispute

An individual who received injuries in a clash between two parties at Manatunkanda in Balangoda died on admission to hospital. During investigations the police arrested four women on suspicion of the incident.

Police said a land dispute between two groups of relatives who attended an alms giving in memory of the victim’s wife’s father had resulted in his death. The suspects were to be produced before the Balangoda magistrate yesterday. Balangoda Police are conducting further investigations.
