En­gage in re­li­gious ob­ser­vances based on Bud­dhist prin­ci­ples: Prelate

Raja Maha Vi­haraya, Chan­cel­lor or the Uva Wel­lassa Univer­sity Ven. Benga­muwe Dham­madinna Thera re­quested all Bud­dhists to en­gage in re­li­gious ob­ser­vances based on Bud­dhist prin­ci­ples dur­ing the Ve­sak in view of the pre­vail­ing se­cu­rity sit­u­a­tion in the coun­try.

He told the me­dia yes­ter­day the peo­ple of other faiths were at lib­erty to ob­serve their re­li­gions and Bud­dhists must flock to tem­ples and other places of Bud­dhist wor­ship and at­tend re­li­gious ac­tiv­i­ties.

The Ven.thera said Ve­sak was an im­por­tant event in the Bud­dhist cal­en­der which should not be ne­glected.
