REVISED SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS AT BIA

THE SLAF WAS INFORMED THAT PASSENGERS ARRIVING AND LEAVING WERE INCONVENIENCED

-

Arrangements have been made to facilitate the entrance of vehicles to the respective gates for drop off and pick up of passengers and to minimise the distance passengers have to walk with their baggage, the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) said yesterday.

In a statement, the SLAF said airport taxi service would also commence at the exit terminal. “Any passenger wishing to avail of such will be able to book at the terminal and board it just outside. Any passenger arriving at the airport can also consult any airport or Air Force official for further information about the new arrangements,” the statement said.

The SLAF said it was made aware that passengers arriving and departing from the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) had to undergo considerable inconvenience because of the enhanced security checks implemented from April 21.
