Bus crashes into wayside tree injuring 6

A private bus veered off the road and crashed into a wayside tree at Dodangolla in Bibila causing serious injuries to six passengers. The injured were admitted to the Bibila Base Hospital.

The bus was journeying from Medagama to Bibila when it met with the accident. When the bus went out of control the people standing by the roadside managed to escape unhurt by jumping out of harm’s way.

Investigations revealed that the driver was driving the bus at excessive speed.
