Engage in religious observance­s based on Buddhist principles: Prelate

Raja Maha Viharaya, Chancellor or the Uva Wellassa University Ven. Bengamuwe Dhammadinn­a Thera requested all Buddhists to engage in religious observance­s based on Buddhist principles during the Vesak in view of the prevailing security situation in the country.

He told the media yesterday the people of other faiths were at liberty to observe their religions and Buddhists must flock to temples and other places of Buddhist worship and attend religious activities.

The Ven.thera said Vesak was an important event in the Buddhist calender which should not be neglected.
