Gang, wanted in connection with van theft, apprehended

A gang wanted in connection with the theft of a van from a showroom at Palidora Road in Kawdana, Dehiwala was taken into custody and the stolen van recovered while the van used by the robbers was also seized by the Mirihana Special Crime Investigation Unit.

The three suspects from Swarapola, Bokindara and Badagettara areas were between the ages of 23 and 26.

Police initiated inquiries into a complaint by the showroom manager, examined the footage from CCTV installed at the showroom and the nearby houses and identified the suspects. The stolen van was recovered from the house of one of the suspects.
