Akeel, Sachitha put Kalutara TC on top

Akeel Inham cracked a career-best 165 while Sachitha Jayatileke scored 140 to put Kalutara TC on top on the second day of their SLC Premier Tier ‘B’ Inter-club Cricket Tournament encounter against Bloomfield which continued at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Akeel’s knock came off 285 balls and comprised 21 boundaries and two sixes while Sachitha’s knock came in 157 balls and included 10 boundaries and 10 sixes.

Akeel was also involved in a 198-run stand for the sixth-wicket with Sachitha as Kalutara TC went on to make 406 for nine declared in their first innings.

Meanwhile, Kurunegala YCC helped by half centuries from Lahiru Jayaratne, Dhanushka Dharmasiri and Anuruddha Rajapakse took a first innings lead over fancied Galle CC in their match which continued at Kurunegala.
