The 31st death anniversary of yesteryear popular actor Anthony C. Perera falls on May 20. Anthony who was born in Maha Wewa made his acting debut on stage with the help of Laddie Ranasinghe. But his dream was to become a film star. He made his film debut with Suraya and followed it up with several movies like Surasena, Sepali, Subadra, Sandeshaya, Ranmuthu Duwa, Allapu Gedara, Dheewarayo, Hathara Denama Surayo, Hondama Welawa, Sura Chowraya, Chandiya and others.besides acting, he was also a screenplay writer, assistant director and director.
