Beige is anything but boring
From Neon brights to millennial pink, some of the most important colour trends to have emerged from fashion in recent years all have one thing in common: they are bright, bold and unashamedly command the attention of onlookers. Which is why it's so interesting that this seasons, fashion's must-have shade of the moment is decidedly more understated: beige.

Tisci of Burberry the muted hue is no longer a safe choice or byword for bland. It's been spotted on the well-dressed backs of street style insta stars and high-powered fashion editors. Tisci stands at the vanguard of the colour's revival having showcased a parade of looks that were dominated by beige tones for his debut collection at the luxury fashion house. The standout collection was closely followed by similarly neutral offerings from a host of other designers, including Tom Ford, Dior, Prada and Maxmara.
In fact, the trend has proved to be such a hit with fashion fans since the spring/summer 2019 shows that the hashtag #beigeaesthetic now boasts more than 56,000 posts on Instagram.
The rise of this neutral hue could be a reaction to the rise of inconspicuous consumption
The rise of this neutral hue could be a reaction to the rise of inconspicuous consumption – when a brand or person avoids outwardly displaying their wealth or social status. It really is a stand out trend because of the vast array of options available and it suits all ages, shapes, sizes and skin tones. Beige and its camel coloured tones are so fashionable now because it's understated and conservative, which translates to being ‘timeless' in fashion. Women want classics that are going to last and wearing beige is one sure way to achieve just that. While creamy hues might not be the most exhilarating, they are timeless and offer endless styling opportunities.
Beige is such a classic, timeless shade and a great neutral to start your outfit with. If you're wearing it head to toe it lends itself to being super grown up chic and elegant. If you want to make it a little more fun though, layer it with a lot of jewellery a quirky pair of glasses, a pair of fun trainers or a colorful pair of sandals – something that makes it modern and brings it to life. You can also team it with other neutrals or break it up with a vivid colour; something to warm it up and provide a contrast.
Beige is the kind of no-brainer shade that goes with absolutely everything, beige tones promise to slot into your wardrobe seamlessly but it's still important that you invest in the right pieces.
