In a statement to the media he drew the attention of the government to the prevailing situation and said that the country was facing a state of anarchy for want of a leader and pointed out that the Mahasangha had warned of the impending danger, but it fell on the deaf ears of the relevant government authorities.

It is the responsibility of the government at this crucial juncture to pay particular attention to it and to take right decisions to resolve this serious issue.the people are of opinion that they have been left without protection for want of a leader. Speculations are rife that the ongoing crisis would lead to massive genocide.with this in view it is the duty of the President and the Prime Minister to join hands and provide a visionary leadership to the county to resolve the issue,” the Mahanayake Thera said.
