Pakistan is a victim of terrorism and has lost over 70,000 innocent people and more than 100 billion dollars during its war on terror

The Pakistani High Commission in Colombo has sent the following Right of Reply.

This is with reference to an article published in on May 14, 2019, under the title “How Bangladesh haskept Islamic radicals in check” written by P. K. Balachandran. The groundless article has probably passed as the lowest possible nadir of unprofessional journalism.

Without attributing to sources that can be verified - and without the slightest pretension to complying with even the most rudimentary commands of journalistic writing - the article began and ended with making the wildest and sweeping allegations against Pakistan.

The writer, in an unsubstantiated manner, is playing with the historical facts and twisting the reality, therefore, the High Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, categorically rejects the tenuous facts described in the article by the writer and elucidates that Pakistan or any of its institutes have never been involved in any such nefarious activities.

Pakistan is a victim of terrorism and has lost over 70,000 innocent people and more than 100 billion dollars during its war on terror. Pakistan condemns all forms of terrorism and its manifestation anywhere in the world and is committed to uproot this scourge.

The High Commission of Pakistan urges the Daily Mirror that as a responsible newspaper, which is the leading print media house in Sri Lanka, to project news that is fair, objective and considerate of others’ interests, should avoid the individuals who inevitably take exception and write articles or stories with baseless accusations and attacks a country which is a true friend of Sri

Lanka.
