SLA initiative get toilets to two Kilinochchi Schools

Two toilet buildings had been donated on Thursday, May 9 by Dr Sukumar Nagendran on the request of Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, Commander Kilinochchi recently.

The Nagendra Vidyalaya in Puliyampokkanai Grama Niladhari Division and Thambirasa Primary School in Punnaniravi Grama Niladhari Division in Kilinochchi, were the beneficiaries, following initiatives taken by the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQKLN) received two separate sanitary complexes with sponsorship provided by a Sri Lankan expatriate in the US.

Dr Sukumar Nagendran in response to a request made by Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, Commander, Security Forces-kilinochchi donated Rs 550,000 for construction of those two sanitary complexes for both schools since students did not have proper facilities in the school premises.

Troops of 1 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 14 Sri Lanka National Guard under the guidance of Garrison Engineer troops of the 57 Division built those two sanitary complexes with funds made available by the donor.

On Thursday (9), Major General Ravipriya as the Chief Guest went to both schools and vested those new sanitary facilities in the students during brief ceremonies.

Principals, teachers, parents, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Brigadier A.S Hewawitharana, Commanders of the 572 and 573 Brigades and civilians in the area were present.
